26 July 2003
Saturday

Today ended a weekend at ye ole swap meet. Dad and I sold, we got rid of the steam engine that was sitting in the garage. Its nice to see the floor again. I might, just might get my life organized again. Anyway, I had a decent haul of items coming back home. Nothing big, but now I have windshield wiper motors to rebuild. This is good.

Now nothing in my life lasts for more than twelve hours without some lovely reversal of fortune happening. So after a lovely Italian dinner--proschutto stuffed chicken breast in cream sauce with mushrooms--I came home, plopped in front of ye ole computer, and ended up IMing with half the Western world it seems. After that, a dinner guest stated that if you're not married by 30, you probably won't get married. I'm 22. I have a great fear of being single, and I worry that I will be forever. (Think that scene in Brigid Jones' Diary about being found half eaten by dogs.) So here I am all stressing about being single for eternity and never having offspring. (All men worry about offspring, we just pretend we don't want to be fathers.) And stupid me decided to practice "Tu Es Petra" by Henri Mulet, nice agitating music that sounds depressing and violent. So now I come down to the computer all in a tither and not particularly enjoying life. And of course I get to severly upset a friend in the process. Yay for me.
I wish I could get my head on straight, just for a while.

Monday

If I were to report everything thats been going on in the last few days, my hands would probably merge with the keyboard. Suffice to say, I think we should have a parallel language to English. I make lots of typos on IM. Most of them I correct, many of them are from glancing hits on the keys adjacent the keys I'm trying to hit. For instance, 'just a sec,' has often come out as 'just a sex.' Tonight a friend typed in 'eorkin' for 'workin.' I think all the possibilites should be cataloged and used as alternative English. :0)

Tuesday

Song: that annoying one "Hey sexy lady lets get it on, lets get it on til the break of dawn..." Watch half an episode of the Osbournes and look what happens to you.

I had something 167 emails in my Yahoo account. Within the top ten was an ad for an "Athletic Sex Video." Perhaps the most shocking part of it--for I have heard that sex can be at least as athletic as ballroom dancing--was that it somehow was sent to the Yahoo forum "The Victorian Society." Now how did that get there? I don't think Victorians have athletic sex. I know I'm not having athletic sex. Anyway, it is late. I am happy that my automobile is behaving itself for the moment. I hope that my car will sell on ebay, either way I will be listing more lovely things soon.
Oh and the song is "Get Busy" by Sean Paul.

Song: Pink Floyd, Comfortable Numb

Yeah I listen to Floyd, I'm sure that shocks some of you.

Guess what children? You cannot kneel in a pedestrian lane or buy a mattress on Sunday in Spokane. Nor can you curse in a miniature golf course in Long Beach. Know where I learned this? www.dumblaws.com

Song: Suburban Legends, Up All Night

So many things to do and so little time to get them all done in! Why did I have to have every hobby under the sun?

Song: Dandy Warhols, Not if you were the last junkie on earth

Today wasn't too bad. I got a telephone call from a dear bud, his 18 year old brother is getting married! Why is it that everyone I know gets married before they're 21? Oh, and Tom's fiancee wears spikes, apparently "she always wears them." Oh well, nice to know that I'm not the only guy who appreciates just a little bit of naughtiness.
Oh, I found an original 1930 Essex sedan that the owner wants to street rod. I feel like I need to save the car. My left ear is still bothering me a little bit from where the gasolene poured in. Tomorrow will be a busy day. I had best get to bed. And I still wished I played the violin.

8 July 2003
Tuesday

As usual everything is flying out of control before my eyes. There's an old saying "balls to the walls." Now this sounds much dirtier than it really is. I think it refers to flyball governors used years ago on steam engines. Ok. Today we toured the Nethercutt Collection. This is my 4th or 5th excursion. Still a great collection. There was a new tour director in training. Poor thing had one of the accordions of the Hupfeld Excelsior Pan cypher when she demonstrated it. But at least the roll was a very uptempo version of "The Broadway Melody" which is a favorite of mine. Damon and I had fun. Went to the model T club meeting, afterwards coffee with a jaunt in my roadster. Damon goes tomorrow, and I'm actually pretty bummed to see him go. He's got a wicked sense of humor, likes violent classical music, and is suprisingly more sensitive and intelligent than he sounded over IM or the telephone. So there I am. I sold quite a few things on ebay today, the take was over $500, so now I can breathe easier than before. If I can keep onto the money, and lose 20 pounds, things will be pretty good. Now if I can only remember to get razors tomorrow...

7 July 2003
Monday

I must appologize for not regularly updating my blog. I've a house guest at the moment. Things are working splendidly well, much better than originally expected, but it leaves me no real time to myself.

Lets see whats been going on with me lately. Well, I bought another Victrola. Mom is somewhat less than pleased. I've been seeing lots of interesting things in the last few days. Today saw a fabulous collection of vintage telephones--amazing with those how something very rare can look pretty normal. Now I need more old telephones. Spent a whole day antiquing, this proves I'm utterly insane, but at least I didn't buy anything much. I've also been driving the heck out of my Model T. Its still running great, despite having such a worn engine. But I'm tired and need to go to bed now.

1 July 2003
Tuesday

Good grief how the time passes! I've been extremely busy with the arrival of a friend tomorrow. I've had friendly chats with various friends online today, which has been very nice. I also spent like 3 hours posting items onto ebay. My old bass clarinet is one, poor guy, he's not been played in 3 years. He needs to be played, I need the $300. Anyway.

I finally developed the photos I took a week ago at the beach party. They came out better than I expected. Anyway, its late and tomorrow is a busy day. To a dear reader near Olana, You're special. To another dear reader near Costco, keep the faith, you'll win the war.
